INFORMAVORE's SUNDAY No 465

You will see that the World is still functional. In the same time it is decaying
but it seems that the forces of progress are stronger. Please judge for yourself

  1. Of course we now that the hypothesis of eat by nuclear fission is not the only one: the above article (http://news.sciencemag.org/sciencenow/2011/07/earth-still-retains-much-of-its-.html?etoc&elq=6db589663eae481493dbe57bbd6a094a) could be plain wrong about its conclusions.

  2. Thanks, dear Michele! The problem is almost as old
    as cold fusion itself.
I remember, the idea that CF is an energy source for our Planet was first announced by a Russian scientist. It must be somewhere in Dieter Britz's Bibliography,

  3. Peter, thanks to you. I enjoy reading your selection of news. actually I was mislead by another article in your post that claims FISSION as heat source. Indeed the article i mention correctly speaks of decay of .natural isotopes, but still I find the explanation of the missing heat a bit too simplistic ...

  4. Michele, the truth is summa summarum that we don't
know exactly what is heating our Planet, exactly as we don't know with precision and certainty its internal structure. We will find it out stepwise.
And there are lots of things we don't know and ....see please my Problem Solving Rule No 5:

NOT what we know, but what we don’t know is more important for solving the problems

    Just an example- the E-cat.

  5. Thank for this precious net survey.

The paper about T Boone Pickens is very interesting.

The paper of GEOSCIENCE about the heat of the earth actually don’t refer to fission, but to nuclear decay.

By luck, gravity field vanishes as uranium atom (dissolved into the liquid iron alloy core) move to the center of our planet.

It is zero-g at the center of the earth, preventing the accumulation of heavy nuclei, and uranium criticity.

After some million years after earth accretion, the begining of the cristallisation of the solid “seed” at the center of the liquid core provide us another safety between us and “nuclear natural planet-level Fukushima”

    Fabrice

  6. Dear Fabrice, I am grateful to you for this info
During the early 90's I had a collaboration with the Romanian institute of Geodynamics (director prof Dorel Zugravescu) re CF's contribution to the energy of Earth- then I was well informed sbout the publications
